The inferno, in which Caroline Kennedy and her two young children were killed

The Town of Bartica was plunged into a state of shock and sadness after news spread that a man had set ablaze his wife and two young daughters following a heated argument late Saturday night.

Dead are Caroline Kennedy and her two daughters – five-year-old Mariana Downer and three-year-old Gabriella Kennedy. They were reportedly burnt alive in a wooden house, located at Four Miles Housing Scheme, Bartica. Kennedy’s husband is alleged to have committed the beastly act, and has since been taken into police custody.

Reports are that sometime after 22:00hrs on Saturday, the woman’s partner set the house alight following an argument. He accused the woman of infidelity after he heard her talking on the phone with another individual. The man allegedly locked the woman and the two young children indoors before committing the gruesome act. Persons in the area noted that the house was flattened within minutes. The man was later arrested by the police.

Mayor of Bartica, Gifford Marshall, in a Facebook post, said he learnt of the tragic incident at around 23:00hrs on Saturday.  “What I witnessed was beyond comprehension,” the Mayor said.

He continued: “Little Mariana Downer 5yrs and her sister 3yrs old Gabriella Kennedy did not deserve to die the way they did. Their mom Caroline Kennedy, I’m certain was looking forward to spending the holidays with her dear daughters. Like Mariana and Gabriella, she did not deserve to die in that tragic manner.”

Marshall said it is cruel and heartless to kill one’s spouse, but the man, who kills his own daughters, cannot be considered human. “Our prayers are with the relatives, friends and the entire Four Miles community,” the Mayor said.
