Minister of Culture, Youth and Sport Charles Ramson Jr underscored Mashramani’s growing role as a national platform for local creatives to showcase their talents, as the calendar of activities for Mashramani 2027 was officially launched under the theme “Guyanese Uniting, Guyana Rising.”
The 2027 calendar will feature several new and returning attractions, including Mash Night, the Masquerade Jamboree and Mashramani Pop-Up Concerts while crowd favourites such as the Soca, Chutney, Calypso and Dancehall Monarch competitions, Banks on the Avenue and Mashramani will also return.

Speaking at the event on Wednesday, Minister Ramson expressed satisfaction with the development of Mashramani over the past three years, while calling for greater private sector investment in the national celebrations.
He urged businesses to play a more meaningful role in supporting the festivities, warning that the government may be forced to take a firmer stance on future engagements if adequate support is not made available.
Minister within the Ministry of Culture, Youth and Sport, Steven Jacobs, outlined several changes aimed at enhancing the Mashramani experience.

“Mashramani is here to stay. We want to make sure it’s good, clean fun,” Minister Jacobs affirmed.
The event also featured remarks from the winners of the 2026 Soca, Dancehall, Chutney and Calypso competitions, who expressed appreciation to the government for providing opportunities to compete and showcase their talents on a national stage.
The artistes also expressed enthusiasm for the upcoming 2027 competitions and celebrations.
The official Mashramani launch is scheduled for January 15, 2027.
