Local Content Portal moves to new web address with enhanced online services

The Ministry of Natural Resources, through the Local Content Secretariat, wishes to inform applicants, certificate holders and the general public that the Local Content Portal has moved from lcregister.petroleum.gov.gy to the following new official web address: https://localcontent.gov.gy

The enhanced portal provides a more convenient and user-friendly way for Guyanese nationals and Guyanese companies to apply for, manage and maintain their Local Content certification online.

Key improvements include:

1. A redesigned user interface that makes the portal easier to navigate and use.
2. Applications organised into clear sections, allowing applicants to complete each part of the form in a structured manner.
3. Save-and-continue functionality, enabling applicants to save their progress and return later without restarting their application.
4. Online document management, including the secure uploading and replacement of required supporting documents.
5. A personal applicant workspace where users can view their applications, monitor their status, respond to requests for changes and access issued certificates.
6. Certificate renewal reminders, including email notifications when certificates become eligible for renewal.
7. A simplified renewal process, with the option to reuse relevant information from a previous application for review and confirmation.
8. Online notifications and message history, allowing applicants to view correspondence with the Local Content Secretariat in chronological order.
9. The ability to notify the Secretariat of changes to the ownership, directorship or registered address associated with an approved application.
10. Online certificate access and verification, allowing certificate holders to download their certificates and members of the public to verify certificate information.

Existing user accounts, applications and Local Content Certificates remain valid and available through the new portal. Certificate holders are not required to reapply solely because of the change in web address.

Applicants and certificate holders are encouraged to bookmark localcontent.gov.gy and sign in using their existing account details. First-time applicants may create a new applicant account through the portal.

This upgrade forms part of the ministry’s continued commitment to improving public-service delivery, strengthening transparency and supporting greater Guyanese participation in the petroleum sector.
