The World Trade Centre Georgetown (WTCG) will host its International Trade and Investment Conference from October 19 to 23, 2026, bringing together business leaders, investors, policymakers, trade promotion organizations and other stakeholders to explore expanding opportunities in Guyana, the Caribbean, South America and beyond.
The five-day conference, to be held at the World Trade Centre Georgetown, 44 High Street, Kingston, comes at a defining moment in Guyana’s economic development.
Guyana’s major oil and gas discoveries and expanding production have transformed the country’s economic landscape and created opportunities across a wide range of sectors requiring investment, technology, innovation, expertise, infrastructure and international partnerships.
The conference will provide participants with firsthand insight into Guyana’s evolving business and investment environment and opportunities to engage with key stakeholders involved in the country’s development.
Its focus, however, will extend beyond Guyana. Dedicated sessions will examine opportunities for doing business with Brazil, Belize and St. Kitts and Nevis, with practical discussions on trade, investment, market access and partnership opportunities.
The programme will focus on strategic sectors including agriculture and agribusiness, tourism, real estate development, artificial intelligence and digitization, the orange economy and other creative industries, financial services, logistics and air transport, import and export trade, and international business development. Participants will also benefit from hands-on workshops on topics including the Fundamentals of International Trade Research.
Several distinguished regional and international figures are scheduled to participate as keynote speakers and panelists, including Dr. Vanessa Neumann, former Venezuelan Ambassador to the United Kingdom; internationally acclaimed Guyanese-British singer, songwriter and recording artist Eddy Grant; international journalist Doreen Hemlock; and Volville Forsyth, former Secretary of the Caribbean Development Bank.
The conference will also mark the first anniversary of the official launch of the World Trade Centre Georgetown and reflects WTCG’s commitment to promoting trade, investment, business development and international partnerships.
With Guyana emerging as a major energy producer and strengthening its position as a link between Caribbean and South American markets, the WTCG International Trade and Investment Conference offers a timely platform for businesses and investors seeking new markets, partnerships and opportunities.
The conference will be held from October 19 to 23, 2026, at the World Trade Centre Georgetown, 44 High Street, Kingston, Georgetown. Friday October 23rd is dedicated to site visits and a closing cultural presentation in the evening.
