On behalf of Cricket West Indies, I wish to commend Captain Hayley Matthews, Head Coach Shane Deitz, the players, support staff, and the entire West Indies Women’s team for their performance at the 2026 ICC Women’s T20 World Cup.

While we are naturally disappointed not to have advanced to the final, there is every reason to hold our heads high. Reaching the semi-finals of a World Cup is a significant achievement that reflects the talent, commitment, and fighting spirit that this team has consistently displayed throughout the tournament. It further shows that we remain among the elite teams in world cricket.

I salute Captain Hayley Matthews for her steadfast leadership throughout the tournament, and I also recognise the invaluable contributions of every member of the squad and support staff. Success at this level is always a collective effort, and this team has once again shown the strength of the culture being built within West Indies women’s cricket.

Cricket West Indies remains fully committed to investing in the continued development of our women’s programme, ensuring our players have every opportunity to compete consistently for global honours.

To our players, thank you for your passion, your determination, and for being supreme ambassadors of our region. The entire Caribbean stands with you today, just as we have throughout this campaign, and we look forward with great optimism to what lies ahead.
