Participation in the King’s Baton Relay Activities

The Guyana Olympic Association (GOA) extends its sincere appreciation to you for your strong presence and outstanding support of the King’s Baton Relay activities, coordinated by the GOA in its capacity as a Commonwealth Games Association.

Your participation in such significant numbers powerfully demonstrated, not only to Guyana, but to the wider Commonwealth community and the world—the unifying force of sport and its ability to bring people and communities together for the greater good of humanity, and what we can achieve when we work collectively.

Through your support, we were also able to showcase Guyana’s diversity, unity, and inclusive spirit of collaboration—values that are uniquely enshrined in and defined by our national motto: “One People, One Nation, One Destiny.”

Together, we also able reaffirmed our shared commitment to the ideals of the 74 nations and territories of the Commonwealth, one where diversity is celebrated, differences are embraced, common ground is found, as we stand united in our collective pursuit of a level playing field, regardless of ethnicity, culture, background, gender, or ability, as captured in the powerful Commonwealth Sport motto: “More included, more united, more in common.”

We are also especially pleased with the success of the Ocean Clean-Up Initiative, which not only highlighted our collective responsibility toward environmental stewardship but also demonstrated the power of unified action and the role of sport as a catalyst for positive change.

The Guyana Olympic Association is truly elated by the overwhelming support demonstrated and looks forward to continued collaboration as we work together to build stronger, more inclusive communities through sport.
