Update on National $100,000 Cash Grant

  • Phase 1 – On March 19, 2026, 48,858 Central Government employees (public servants, teachers and members of the disciplined services) received their cash grants amounting to $4.9 billion of additional income being placed in the hands of these public servants
  • Phase 2 – On March 26, 2026, Government launched an online portal for Guyanese citizens to self-register.  
  • On March 30, 2026, the first batch of citizens numbering 13,168 who had completed the registration process and were verified via the portal received their cash grants deposited directly into their bank accounts. This brought the total number of persons receiving the cash grant, along with the Central Government employees to 62,026 representing an injection of $6.2 billion into the hands of Guyanese.  
  •  On April 1, 2026, the second batch of citizens numbering 23,816 who had successfully registered on the portal and were verified, will be receiving their cash grants deposited directly into their bank accounts within the next 24 hours. 
  • This has now brought the total number of persons receiving the cash grant, along with the Central Government employees to 85,842 representing an injection of over $8.5 billion into the hands of Guyanese across the country.    
  • As of today (April 1) 63,113 persons have successfully completed self-registration on the portal with another 25,879 persons at various stages of their registration progress.

The Finance Minister Hon. Dr. Ashni Singh encourages persons to continue to use the portal to register for their cash grant at https://cashgrant.gov.gy
