Dear Editor,
The USA accused Maduro of corruption and narco-trafficking. President Trump ordered American military operations in Venezuela, capturing the dictator Maduro and his wife and flying them out of the country. They have been charged.  Maduro rigged the 2024 elections to retain power.  He and his cabinet colleagues and relatives and officials supportive of them have been involved in wholesale corruption over the last decade similar to what has been happening in Guyana over the last five years; several Guyanese officiate been known to be involved in drug trafficking.
The American actions in Venezuela are justified. Thus, I support the American actions to remove Maduro and his thieving thugs from office and American efforts to restore democracy and good governance. We need similar American military operations here in Guyana to put away the drug traffickers and kleptomaniacs who have been protecting them. The kleps are raping the treasury and acquiring properties in the names of family members, friends, and others who are paid to be temporary custodians fronting for the real owners. The real owners of several of  these properties are Ministers and other officials of state agencies and boards and bureaucrats close to the rulers.
President Trump justifiably carried out military operations in Venezuela to oust Maduro. I appeal to President Trump to go after corrupt officials and drug traffickers and their government backers in Guyana.
Yours Truly,
Tamesh Roopnarine
