Diplomatic Criticism Shouldn’t Shock Us

Dear Editor,

I was amused and bemused by the strongly worded letter, by Dr Walter Persaud as published in Tuesday 25th November Stabroek News, this broadside against the Canadian High commissioner is unnecessary and out of place, and somewhat banal. Since when Dr Persaud and his ilk see something wrong with comments from foreign diplomatic sources.

Guyanese must not be fooled by this recent expression of indignation. We need people everywhere to urge Guyanese to speak up against our descent into the dungeon of darkness and disgrace. On a lighter note, I can remind this learned doctor of an old clip “different strokes, for different folks”.
