The People’s National Congress Reform (PNCR) and the A Partnership for National Unity (APNU) categorically condemn the recent discovery of a multi-million dollar fraud at the Yarrowkabra/Hurunui Neighbourhood Democratic Council (NDC), which is currently under the control of the People’s Progressive Party Civic (PPPC).

We are deeply concerned by the reports indicating that the overseer responsible for the NDC has been detained for questioning in connection with this matter. Allegations have also surfaced suggesting that the NDC Chairman may be culpable, and we call on the relevant authorities to conduct a transparent and thorough investigation into all aspects of this case.

Furthermore, the PNCR/APNU is aware of allegations involving the illegal sale of land within the NDC. We urge the relevant law enforcement and regulatory agencies to thoroughly investigate these claims and take decisive action against any individuals found responsible for illegal activities.

The PNCR/APNU remains committed to upholding the principles of good governance, accountability, and transparency. We will continue to monitor this situation closely and will provide further updates as more information becomes available.

We urge all stakeholders and citizens to collaborate with the authorities in upholding justice and integrity in our local government processes.
