Time for Honest Reflection Within the PNCR Ranks

Dear Editor,

It pains me deeply — as a committed member of the People’s National Congress Reform (PNC/R) — to say that I am left with no other choice but to describe the current leadership of our great party as lame-duck and directionless. At critical moments when bold, decisive leadership was needed to defend the principles and people of the PNC/R, Aubrey Norton has chosen weakness, silence, and political compromise.

Global Balance, Local Betrayal: The Evidence They Can’t Applaud

History will not be kind to Mr. Norton. His tenure has become synonymous with disunity, stagnation, and betrayal of the party’s core values. Once a movement of strength and integrity, the PNC/R now finds itself adrift under a leader who appears more concerned with personal survival than with restoring dignity and direction to our cause.

What is most shocking — and frankly disgraceful — is this latest act of political surrender: teaming up with the People’s Progressive Party (PPP) to allow them continued control of the Regional Democratic Council. Such an alliance reeks of desperation and opportunism. It raises serious questions about loyalty and integrity within the leadership circle. One cannot help but wonder — who is benefitting from this arrangement? Who is collecting the “paper bag” from the PPP while the grassroots base supporters of the PNC/R have grown frustrated, its regional structures fractured.

The party deserves far better than this mockery of leadership. Our founders built the PNC/R on the foundation of courage, principle, and patriotism. To see that legacy squandered by a leader who refuses to take responsibility or even show shame is nothing short of tragic.

Aubrey Norton must understand that leadership is not about occupying an office — it’s about standing firm for the people and the principles that define us.

He will go down in history as the worst leader the PNC/R has ever produced if he continues down this path of collaboration and complacency.

The time has come for honest reflection within our ranks. The PNC/R must not be held hostage by weak leadership or hidden deals. We must rise again with integrity, courage, and purpose — or risk losing the trust of our people forever.

Yours truly,
Pt.Ubraj Narine, JP, COA
Former Staff Sgt.(GDF), Mayor
City of Georgetown
