(CARICOM Secretariat, Turkeyen, Greater Georgetown, Guyana) – National cricketer of Guyana, Naomi Barkoye, a 20-year-old undergraduate Law student and winner of the Canadian High Commission’s 2025 High Commissioner for the Day contest, visited the CARICOM Secretariat on Thursday, 9 October 2025.

She was accompanied by His Excellency Sébastien Sigouin, High Commissioner of Canada in Guyana; Daniel Bood, Political Counsellor; and Roberta Ferguson, Public Affairs Officer at the High Commission of Canada.

During her visit, Ms. Barkoye engaged with several CARICOM Secretariat officials, including Elizabeth Solomon, Assistant Secretary-General for Foreign Policy and Community Relations; Michele Small-Bartley, Programme Manager, Youth Development; Dr Hilary Brown, Programme Manager, Culture; Jhonson Alexandre, Deputy Programme Manager, Foreign Policy and Community Relations; and Project Officer, Foreign Policy and Community Relations, David Allens.
