Guyana Olympic Association Names Swimming Prodigy Raekwon Noel and Hockey Captain Sarah Klautky to be Guyana’s Flag bearers at the 2025 Junior Panam Games Asuncion Paraguay

President Godfrey Munroe and the Executive committee of the Guyana Olympic Association named Guyana’s swimming ace Raekwon Noel and Hockey’s Junior girls team captain Sarah Klautky as Guyana’s flag bearers for the opening ceremony 2025 Junior Panam Games

The duo will lead a six sports disciplines team of athletes qualified and selected to represent Guyana at the highest continental Junior games.

The opening ceremony for the games is scheduled for Saturday 9th August 7, 2025 at 7.00pm at the UENO Defensores del Chaco Stadium Asunción Paraguay.

Noel, one of the region’s top Junior swimmers who recently won several medals at Junior Panam Swimming Championships is expected to lead Guyana’s medal hunt, while Sarah Klautky will lead Guyana’s hockey team in what represents one of our first team sports participation at the junior edition of the games.

 The Junior Panam American games bring together the best junior athletes and future Olympic prospects from South, North, Central America and the Caribbean to compete in 21 sports disciplines. It is a flagship developmental bridge competition for the Panam Sports Organization, the region lead international sports organization.

The sports disciplines qualified for the games are Athletics, Hockey, Swimming, Archery, Weightlifting and Badminton.

Guyana will be represented by a fifty (50) member Guyana delegation comprising of the following athlete’s coaches and officials

The Games get under way on Sunday 10th August 2025 and ends on the 23rd August, 2025.

Swimmers will commence Sunday and end on the 14th August 2025

Badminton will shuttle off on the 10th of August and ends on 13th August 2025

Athletics commences from 18th to 22nd August

Hockey will commence their quest for medal prospects on the 10th Sunday and ends on the 19th August 2025

Archery starts on the 10th and ends on the 12th August 2025

Weightlifting starts on the 20th and ends on the 23rd August 2025

The swimming team departed Guyana on Wednesday morning via Copa Airlines and arrived on Thursday morning.

Hockey and badminton contingent are en route to Asuncion.

Archers are currently in Asuncion after completing High performance program in Paraguay
