At just 19 years old, Aaliyah Misir, hailing from Bartica, Region 7, has earned a title that places her on the world stage — Miss Teen Charm Guyana. Representing Guyana in one of the world’s top five most prestigious teen pageants, the Miss Teen Charm International franchise. Aaliyah is proving that grace, advocacy, and ambition can indeed go hand in hand.

Misir, the youngest of four siblings, is currently pursuing an online certification in general psychology. She has a strong passion for singing, reading, and creative writing. But beyond hobbies and titles, Aaliyah sees her crown as more than a symbol — it’s a responsibility.

“The opportunity for a global platform and visibility was a key motivator in my decision to accept this role,” she explains. “As a national representative, I aim to showcase the diversity of my nation and advocate for causes I deeply believe in — especially youth development.”

Her most unforgettable moment? The coronation. Aaliyah describes that evening not only as a personal achievement but as a call to action. “From the township of Bartica to the international stage, I embraced the responsibility of inspiring young women to chase their dreams with boldness and confidence.”

For Aaliyah, her reign has also been a journey of self-discovery. Having endured bullying and body shaming, she speaks candidly about the toll such experiences take on one’s mental health.

“This role has taught her that true beauty isn’t found in physical appearance — it lies in inner strength and the ability to make a positive impact,” she said.

She also recognizes that today’s pageants are evolving. “Pageantry isn’t just about looks anymore. It’s a platform to raise awareness, perform meaningful community service, and be a voice for change,” she mentioned.

She believes that modern beauty queens should embody more than elegance. “Confidence, relatability, social responsibility, and integrity — these are the traits that define a queen.”

Her message to young girls everywhere? “Break the mold. You don’t have to be perfect to be powerful. Your worth isn’t measured by likes, looks, or labels — but by how you treat yourself and others.”

One issue particularly close to her heart is domestic abuse among young women, something she’s seen affect people she loves.

“Many suffer in silence, believing they are powerless. It takes tremendous strength to survive and rebuild. No one should have to live in fear in their own home.”

Through the Miss Teen Charm platform, Aaliyah is determined to amplify voices often left unheard. With a supportive team beside her, she envisions becoming an advocate for child rights, not just in Bartica, but across Guyana.

Though early in her journey, she’s already reflecting on how the experience is shaping her.

“It’s helped me see my own growth and resilience. I’ve learned to recognize my limitations — and embrace the opportunities to improve,” she stated.

If she could change one thing about pageantry, it would be the misconception that it’s all about appearance. Her mission? To spotlight the substance behind the sparkle — the activism, the volunteering, the social impact.

“Let’s redefine what it means to wear a crown. Not just as a symbol of beauty, but as a tool for impact.”

After long rehearsals and full days, Aaliyah unwinds with classical music and a good book, often reading two to three chapters at a time. A reminder that behind the sash is a thoughtful, driven young woman ready to make a difference.

As Aaliyah Misir continues her reign, one thing is clear; Miss Teen Charm Guyana 2025, isn’t just about outward charm. It’s about purpose, voice, and the promise of change.
