Acclaimed Guyanese designer Randy Madray is set to host “Brunch in Paradise,” an exclusive fashion event that will transform Scotty’s SmokeHouse into a vibrant runway showcase on May 4th. The all-inclusive brunch and fashion show will highlight Madray’s latest collections while offering attendees an immersive fashion experience in an intimate setting.

The fashion show promises to bring Madray’s distinctive aesthetic to life, blending contemporary silhouettes with cultural elements that have become his signature style. Attendees will enjoy a full brunch experience while witnessing the unveiling of his newest designs in a sophisticated atmosphere that celebrates Guyanese creativity.

“This collection represents my continued exploration of our rich cultural heritage through modern fashion,” Madray explained. “I’m excited to share these new designs in such an intimate and engaging format.”

In a special segment during the event, Madray will wear another hat – that of the franchise holder for the Miss Guyana Culture Queen Pageant. The fashion show will incorporate the official sashing ceremony for the 2025 contestants, formally introducing the young women who will compete for the coveted title.

The integration of the sashing ceremony into the fashion show highlights the symbiotic relationship between fashion and pageantry, both serving as vehicles to promote Guyanese culture on international stages.

Under Madray’s leadership since 2019, the Miss Guyana Culture Queen Pageant has achieved unprecedented success at the regional level. Guyana secured back-to-back victories at the Miss Caribbean Culture Queen Pageant in St. Kitts, with Shemina Peroune becoming the first Guyanese to win the title in 2023, followed by Shequana Holder’s triumph in 2024.

The 2025 contestants will have formidable expectations to meet as they aim for a historic third consecutive international win for Guyana. Their journey begins officially at the May 4th sashing ceremony, where they will make their first public appearance as contestants.

“While my passion for fashion drives the creative direction of the show, integrating the sashing ceremony allows us to celebrate these exceptional young women who will represent our cultural heritage,” Madray noted. “This fusion of fashion and cultural pageantry creates a unique and memorable experience for all attendees.”

Tickets for “Brunch in Paradise” are expected to sell quickly, with limited seating available at Scotty’s SmokeHouse. The all-inclusive event begins at 10:00 AM on Sunday, May 4th, 2025.

Tickets are $15,000 and are available on Potsalt App and Website.
