Village Voice Stands by Mashramani Payment Story Amid Ministry’s Denial

The Ministry of Local Government and Regional Development has refuted claims published by Village Voice alleging that the ministry “refused” to pay individuals who participated in the Mashramani competitions on its behalf. In an official statement, the ministry asserted that a significant portion of the revellers and supporters have already been compensated, with the remaining payments currently underway.

The ministry further criticized Village Voice for not seeking its response before publication, labeling the article as “scandalous” and “distasteful.”
