The Georgetown Chamber of Commerce and Industry (GCCI) held its 135th Annual General Meeting (AGM) on Wednesday, March 19, 2025, marking a significant milestone in the Chamber’s long history of supporting commerce and industry in Guyana. The event was highlighted by speeches from key figures, including outgoing President Mr. Kester Hutson, U.S. Ambassador to Guyana, H.E. Nicole Theriot, and Senior Minister in the Office of the President, Hon. Dr. Ashni Singh, who delivered remarks during the opening session.

During the meeting, elections were held following the dissolution of the 2024/2025 Council, resulting in the selection of the 2025/2026 Council members. The new 21-member Council represents a broad range of industries and businesses across Guyana. Among the newly elected members are prominent leaders from various sectors such as construction, insurance, media, technology, and energy, further strengthening the Chamber’s influence in both the private and public sectors.
