Dahlerus Courtman, a 25-year-old school teacher of 87-89 Three Miles Potaro Road, Bartica, who was arrested last Wednesday, February 5, by Police ranks of the Bartica Police Station for the alleged rape of an underage female student, has been remanded to prison after appearing in court charged with the offence of ‘Sexual Activity with a Child by Abusing a Position of Trust’. So said the Guyana Police Force in a statement.

The accused appeared before Nagistrate Teriq Mohammed at the Bartica Magistrateโ€™s Court last Friday, February. He was not required to plead to the charge and was subsequently remanded to prison until March 7, 2025.
