Dr. Vincent Adams, in a letter published yesterday, confronted Vice President Bharrat Jagdeo’s falsehoods and attempt to denigrate his seniority at the U.S. Department of Energy (USDOE), even while admitting his absence of knowledge.

The vice president, known for his rancid rhetoric and penchant for attacking anyone who challenges him, took aim at Adams’ professional credentials in a scathing public attack.

Jagdeo’s comments were made during a press conference, where he was unable to answer a direct question and sought to deflect by attacking Adams’ reputation.

The vice president falsely claimed that Adams had only managed a small sewerage project at the USDOE and was not a senior-level official. A simple google search on Dr. Vincent Adams would show the vice president was being untruthful. Adams retired from USDOE in 2016 as deputy manager of EM’s Portsmouth/Paducah Project Office (PPPO), which could hardly be attributed to a junior position.

Critics see Jagdeo’s attempt to belittle Adams’ accomplishments not only as a reflection of his (Jagdeo’s) character but also underscoring his own disregard for the truth.

Addressing the falsehood, Adams admitted to being of humble beginnings, but make known over the years, through dint of hard work, he has chalked up some significant accomplishments.

In apparent effort to set the record straight Adams addressed his illustrious career as a member of the Senior Executive Service (SES) Corps at the USDOE, a rarefied position held by the top 0.3% of U.S. government employees.

To attain such a role, Adams made known, one must pass through rigorous selection processes, including intense training at the prestigious MIT Sloan Business School.

Adams not only survived this process but thrived, earning numerous accolades, including the distinguished “Distinguished Service Award” for exceptional contributions to the nation.

During his work life in the U.S, Adams made known that he led some of the largest and most critical environmental projects in the world, overseeing the decommissioning and dismantling of U.S. nuclear weapons complexes and developing new nuclear technologies.

He also managed U.S multi-billion-dollar budgets and coordinated efforts between federal and state legislators, governors, and U.S. Congress members. His leadership extended beyond American borders, as he represented the U.S. in international forums, including the International Atomic Energy Agency (IAEA), and chaired major global conferences in Germany and Kazakhstan.

Before his tenure at the USDOE, Adams had also contributed to groundbreaking work in the oil and gas sector, serving as a Senior Reservoir & Production Engineer at AMOCO, now BP. His pioneering work in enhanced oil recovery technology remains influential worldwide.

Touching on his academic accomplishments, Adams made known he has a PhD and multiple master’s and bachelor’s degrees in various engineering disciplines. From his résumé Adams’ qualifications are not just theoretical but backed by decades of experience and real-world impact.

Speaking on the matter in today’s publication, Columnist GHK Lall lambasted Jagdeo, making known the he (Jagdeo) “ought to know only the lowest of skulking creatures pop out of a hole, squawk a loud taunt or insult, and then disappear right back into that dark hole. “

Touching specifically on the vice president’s statement that he doesn’t know if his falsehood against Adams amount to truth, Lall said “it is more than unbecoming of a national leader, it is unmanly.”
“Principled men, straightforward men never find it pleasing to go where Dr. Bharrat Jagdeo goes and relishes,” Lall admonished.
