Balwant Singh Hospital employees charged with multiple counts of larceny

Shivannie Guyadeen, Kimberly Meenawattie Prasad and Randy Persaud, employees of Dr Balwant Singh Hospital have been charged with multiple counts of larceny. They are accused of stealing millions of dollars from the hospital over several months in 2024.

23-year-old Guyadeen, from Belle West, is charged with stealing approximately $14.3 million from the medical institution between February and December 2024. She pleaded not guilty and was granted bail of $500,000.

21-year-old Prasad, from Foulis Housing Scheme, is accused of stealing $1.07 million during a similar period. She pleaded not guilty and was released on $250,000 bail.

23-year-old Persaud, from La Grange, is charged with stealing $180,000 from the hospital.

Additionally, Guyadeen and Persaud face a joint charge of stealing $234,000 in a separate incident.

The three appeared before Magistrate Fayabo Azore at Georgetown Magistrates Court. No. 3, on Monday, December 16, 2024, and were charged under Section 184 of the Criminal Law (Offences) Act for larceny by clerk or servant.
