Reflecting on the program’s impact, Mr. Joe shared, “Paramakatoi Secondary School is located in the North Pakaraimas and consists of predominantly Patamona speakers. This community does not always having access and connections to the outside world, this IDBLab sponsored Learning Pod initiative has allowed myself and students, similar access to those of Georgetown and other parts of Guyana, right here within our environment. Our students enjoy not only interacting with the online learning materials via devices but more so the robotics classes—being able to fit pieces together, creating functional, moveable items. I foresee that this Pod will be an excellent booster to our school and community at large.”

The success of the Paramakatoi pod underscores the transformative potential of STEM education in even the most remote regions. Mr. Joe’s commitment to empowering the youth in his community serves as a powerful example of how education can bridge gaps, inspire innovation, and foster development. STEMGuyana applauds his dedication and hard work, which continue to make a lasting impact.
