Yesterday the European Union (EU) hosted the 2024 Boys’ Conference at Regency Hotel, Hadfield St, Georgetown. The aim of the conference is to empower boys to grow into productive citizens. This is a yearly event hosted by the EU around the country.
Under the theme “Listening to the Future,” the conference gathered young minds to discuss global challenges and opportunities for youth empowerment.
Former Georgetown Mayor Pt. Ubraj Narine delivered the Motivational Remarks to the young participants.
In his speech, Pt. Narine encouraged the attendees to embrace their potential, urging them to be proactive and forward-thinking as they step into leadership roles in an ever-changing world.
The former mayor highlighted the importance of youth participation in shaping a positive future, emphasising that their voices are vital in building a stronger, more inclusive society. The world is not a place to be changed by others — it is a place to be changed by you, he told them.
Pt. Narine urged the boys to believe in themselves, stating: “You have within you the power to create, to lead, and to make a difference. Stand tall, hold your vision high, and never stop reaching for what is possible.”
The Boy’s Conference 2024 served as a platform for youth to engage, inspire, and collaborate towards a brighter tomorrow. To this end the mayor urged participants to “Let’s make the future we envision a reality.”
