OUR DEEPEST CONDOLENCES on the PASSING of our Esteemed SISTER, DR. AMEENA GAFOOR, AA, M.Phil., MA, MS, BA,  a GUYANA PATRIOT for ALL Seasons, who passed on to JANNAH, Heavenly Peace, Allah O Akbar.

May Her Passing, Memory, and Work of Dr. Ameena bring the GAFOORS’ Families, Strength, Comfort & Peace, Forever.        Dr. Ameena Gafoor, a Servant Leader, Philanthropist, Social, Educational and Cultural GIANT, with MANY FIRSTS, including the FOUNDER & EDITOR of THE ARTS JOURNAL; CHAIRMAN of the DOOBAY MEDICAL CENTER, for Hemodialysis Treatments; The GAFOOR FOUNDATION for Social, Educational, and Cultural Supports; AND the Ameena Gafoor Institute for the Study of Indentureship and its Legacies, with the University of Cambridge, UK.

May 25, 2017, Ameena was awarded, Guyana’s Golden Arrow of Achievement, AA.

SN: “December 2022, on the occasion of its 56th Convocation Ceremony, the University of Guyana conferred upon Ameena Gafoor the Honorary Degree of Doctor of Letters. The petition was ceremonially presented before the Chancellor on behalf of Mrs Gafoor, in absentia, in recognition of her extraordinary contribution to the nation of Guyana and the Caribbean region in the field of culture. The university admitted her into membership of the institution by awarding her the HIGHEST degree, honoris causa, for the totality of her work in the advancement of the STUDY of literature, the arts, and the enlargement of cultural understanding.”

Husband, Global Entrepreneur, Chairman, Philanthropist, Servant Leader, Dr. Sattaur Gafoor for their 61 years of marriage was, is, an active supporting member, to Dr. Ameena’s Projects.

Esteemed Brother Chairman Dr.  Sattaur, CCH;  CEO Omar, Dr. Reaud, MD, Dr. Arif, MD,  and Families. JANNAH for Dr. Ameena.  OUR DUAS.  Heaven or Paradise, the eternal abode. Be Strong. Allah knows Best.
