43-year-old labourer in Guyana has been charged with ‘Possession of Forged Currency Note’.
The police disclosed that Anand Alphonso, also known as ‘Dolo’, a resident of the Lima Housing Scheme, was arrested on Tuesday at his home.
The following day, the case was heard at the Anna Regina Magistrate’s Court, presided over by Magistrate Tamieka Clarke.
During the court proceedings, the charge was read to the accused, and Alphonso pleaded not guilty.
However, the prosecutor objected to the granting of bail, and as a result, the defendant was remanded to prison.
The case has been adjourned to August 27. (Loop News)
