The presentation, which occurred during the innings break at the halfway point in the match, was made to recognize the instrumental role the Government of Trinidad and Tobago has played in bringing the World Cup to the West Indies, together with the five other West Indies hosts, Antigua and Barbuda, Barbados, Guyana, Saint Lucia and Saint Vincent and the Grenadines.
