(ECNS) — A freight train carrying 360 metric tons of cargo departed from Ruijin in east China’s Jiangxi Province for Los Angeles in the United States on Monday, marking the launch of a new land-sea freight route.

The cargo train embarked for Xiamen Port in east China’s Fujian Province and will be transported by sea to Los Angeles. It is loaded with goods including textiles, bags and stationary from several cities and counties in Jiangxi.

The successful opening of this freight route will further strengthen the economic and trade exchanges to China’s old revolutionary base area and improve logistics efficiency, according to Ruijin officials.

Expansion of the land-sea freight route is of great significance in helping more foreign trade enterprises explore the international market and contribute to high-quality development in China’s eastern areas.
