Govt names Bourne, Ramsammy and Singh new Ambassadors to Brazil, Switzerland and Belgium

The Government of Guyana today announced the appointment of ambassadors to Brazil, Switzerland and the European Union (EU).

Professor Compton Bourne is identified as Ambassador to Brazil; Dr Leslie Ramsammy to Switzerland and Mr Sasenarine Singh as to the Kingdom of Belgium.

According to the Foreign Affairs Ministry, in a release Singh would also be appointed as Guyana’s Permanent Representative to the European Union and the Organisation of African, Caribbean and Pacific States. He would be based in Brussels.

Ramsammy is expected to assume responsibilities as Guyana’s Permanent Representative to the United Nations in Geneva.

These positions were vacant for some time. The appointees are expected to take up their positions shortly.
