The GNBS Certified Laboratory provides a range of tests in the areas of Haematology, Biochemistry, Urology, Serology and Microbiology, all of which are open to the public. Laboratory Manager, Ms. Khaimwattie Chandradatt boasted that, becoming GNBS Certified was always their intention, “The laboratory was established with one of its goals being to become certified to the GYS 170 Standard. We first started knowing we were headed down that path because you cannot think laboratory without thinking quality, and you cannot think quality without thinking GNBS.”

The laboratory operates in compliance with the GYS 170 Standard which outlines the general requirements for the operation of a laboratory. This Standard offers the steps towards developing and maintaining a thorough management system which ensures that every test conducted is accurate, reliable and precise. This commitment to excellence has earned Caribbean Surgery Inc. recognition from regulatory bodies and industry peers alike.
In January 2022, the Laboratory was first audited by the GNBS Team and officially became certified on March 21, 2022. According to Ms. Chandradatt, “working with the GNBS Team is always great; from the inception with the various trainings to all our audits. We are continually seeking to make our Laboratory Quality Management System better so any feedback that can aid that is always appreciated from the GNBS Team,” Ms. Chandradatt noted.
