Dear Editor,

The UN Human Rights Committee hearing summary mentioned several issues.  Most of the local media (newspapers) mentioned corruption and some mentioned extrajudicial killings after Village Voice News carried it.  However, Village Voice News was the only new outlet that carried the committee’s excerpt on discrimination. If I am wrong then I humbly apologize.

Editor, these are critical issues which should be shared with our citizens.  Why would the local newspapers withhold on the discrimination mention?  The media plays an important role in a democracy and we have to trust that our local media will share all the relevant information with readers.

Yours truly,

L. Peters
