KINGSTON, Jamaica –  Opposition Leader Mark Golding today announced a Shadow Cabinet reshuffle which he says is aimed at “showcasing the diverse talent and extensive skill set present within the party.”

A media release from the PNP today said “The new Shadow Cabinet combines new faces in frontline politics alongside seasoned politicians – all ready to offer solutions to Jamaica’s long standing challenges.”

Party Chairman Dr Angela Brown-Burke will take over as the Shadow Minister for Foreign and Regional Affairs  a post held by Lisa Hanna, who had indicated that she would be stepping away from representational politics, and is not named in the new cabinet reshuffle.

Former cricketer Wavell Hinds, who was named the party’s deputy general secretary in July 2023, has been appointed to take over the Labour and Sports ministries, while the aspiring member of parliament for St James Southern Nekeisha Burchell, has been named the opposition spokesperson on Information and Public Communication.

The Party’s controversial General Secretary, Dr. Dayton Campbell is the new opposition spokesperson on Agriculture and Land.

Golding said each shadow minister will be supported by a team, including deputies, to be named at a later date, and their Junior Shadow Cabinet counterparts.
