The North America Region (NAR) of the People’s National Congress Reform (PNCR) strongly condemns the action of the Guyana Police Force not only acting out of their mission to serve and protect but putting their ranks at risks by allowing them to be used for politically motivated acts of discrimination and harassment.
The group, via a release, said when a legal law-abiding American citizen who migrated from Guyana over 25 years ago is stalked, threatened, and allegedly served with a fake summons by the Guyana Police Force, all Guyanese American citizens and more so legal immigrants from Guyana must be concerned. The group called the Police’s action a “dastardly act.”

It is obvious, NAR said, Rickford Burke, President of Caribbean Guyana Institute of Democracy (CGID), consistent condemnation of the People’s Progressive Party (PPP) autocracy, mishandling of Guyana’s oil wealth, open discrimination of Afro Guyanese has gotten to the government.
Lambasting the government further, NAR made known since all their actions to silence Burke have failed, they have now not only overstepped their boundaries and jurisdiction but have now violated Burke’s constitutional rights as an American citizen and displayed that they have no regard for the laws of America.
Calling others to action in this face of government overreach, NAR said “every Guyanese must now be prepared to stand for justice, protection of their rights domestically and internationally against the racist, vindictive and apartheid rule of the PPP that is determined to silence its critics.”
Rendering assurance the group stands with Burke and will continue to speak out against his situation with the Guyana Government and Police Force, the group is also calling on other persons and organisations in diaspora “to speak out against this repugnant act of the PPP.”
And in calling on the government to end the misuse of the Police Force to harass, silence and abuse its opponents, NAR said it is also hope the international community is paying attention to the PPP’s continued overreaching.
