Police are investigating the alleged murder committed on Yoffi Bobb, a 24-year-old Mason of Lot 51 Victoria, East Coast Demerara, and an attempted murder committed on Delex Skeete, a 25-year-old Plumber and Siyani McFarlene, a 19-year-old Mason (both from Victoria) which occurred at about 03:15hrs Monday morning.
The cutlass attack was allegedly committed by William Montrose, (now deceased), a 26-year-old Miner of Side Line Dam Victoria, whose motionless body was found in a trench with what appeared to be several wounds about his head and upper left side chest.
Enquiries disclosed that between 01:45 and 02:00 hrs Monday morning, Yoffi Bobb along with Skeete and McFarlene were at a party at Victoria which was hosted by a 36-year-old Barber when it is alleged that they attacked William Montrose and took away his gold chain.
During this attack, Yoffi Bobb along with the others dealt Montrose several stabs about his body. Montrose then left and returned with a cutlass and dealt Yoffi Bobb, Siyani McFarlene, and Delex Skeete chops about their bodies after which he escaped. Yoffi Bobb and the two others were escorted to the Georgetown Public Hospital Corporation, where Bobb was pronounced dead on arrival while the other two were admitted as patients.
Delex Skeete’s condition is regarded as serious and Siyani McFarlene’s condition is regarded as stable. Yoffi Bobb’s body was examined and severe wounds were seen to the right side shoulder.
The ranks then combed the area of the scene and discovered the body of William Montrose, in a trench about 500 feet north of the scene. His body was facing upwards. The body was fished out of the trench and examined where three wounds were seen on the forehead, one to the left side upper chest, and two to the right side jaw.
One black handle knife was found tucked in his left side waist. The body was escorted to the Georgetown Public Hospital and pronounced dead on arrival.
Several persons were questioned as investigations continue.
