The 25 Influential Women Leaders Awards (25IWLA) proudly announces the commencement of nominations for its fifth iteration of the Gala  Dinner and Awards Ceremony. Dedicated to celebrating the accomplishments of outstanding  Guyanese women leaders, the organization invites the public to participate in recognizing and  honoring those who embody leadership, empowerment, and ambition.Â
Nomination forms are accessible through the 25IWLAâs social media platforms – Facebook, LinkedIn, and Instagram. The nomination period will remain open until 11:59 pm on  February 2, 2024. The co-creators, Lyndell Danzie-Black and Michelle A. Nicholas, being  ardent women themselves, bring a personal and passionate touch to the initiative. Their  encouragement for the community to nominate women leaders whose impactful work inspires  positive change adds a motivational aspect to the nomination process. By emphasizing the  transformative nature of the nominees’ work, they highlight the potential for positive influence  and change within the community.Â
The theme for the 2024 Gala Dinner and Awards Ceremony, “Leaders Lighting the Way Forward,” beautifully captures the essence of honoring and recognizing the impactful  contributions of Guyanese women. This theme emphasizes the ongoing commitment of the co creators to expand the platform for acknowledging and celebrating the achievements of  remarkable women in the community.Â
Lyndell Danzie-Black, Managing Director, Cerulean Inc., and Michelle A. Nicholas, Founder/CEO of The NICO Consulting Inc., lead 25IWLA with the vision of building an empire  of equally ambitious women leaders committed to positive influence and change. Both co creators emphasize the importance of recognizing women across the country who drive  innovation, good leadership, and motivation.Â
Danzie-Black shared, âWe work with women throughout Guyana and observed the passion and the drive of women to succeed daily. We anticipate many nominations of these very same  women, as the word has gotten around that the premier award celebrating women has created a  platform for women to thrive and strive on their leadership journey.”Â
Nicholas expressed, âIn the spirit of empowerment and progress, we aspire to ignite a flame of inspiration among the next generation of women leaders. May they boldly shatter barriers and  illuminate a path that lights the way for others to follow.â
Nominees must meet eligibility criteria for the awards by having resided and worked in Guyana for a minimum of one year, and they must have held their current role or position for at least one year. Nominators, including colleagues, peers, superiors, subordinates, friends, or relatives, can submit nominations, but self-nominations will not be accepted. Only fully completed nominations will be considered, and multiple submissions for the same nominee will be rejected. Nominators are encouraged to consult the weekly list of 2024 nominees posted on the 25 Influential Women Leaders Award social media pages every Monday at 11:00 am. Â
After the close of the nomination period, a panel of venerated judges from Guyana and the  Diaspora will review nominees and shortlist the 25 recipients. The awards ceremony, a flagship  gala, promises extensive networking opportunities for awardees and stakeholders dedicated to  empowering women and leadership.Â
The success of the event is achievable thanks to robust partnerships with sponsors like Massy, ExxonMobil, SBM, Saint Lucia Tourism Authority, GTT, TechnipFMC, and Camex. The  ongoing support from the business community is essential as we collectively strive to illuminate  the path for acknowledged women leaders and inspire those who will follow in their exemplary  footsteps â all under the theme of “Leaders lighting the way forward.”Â
