On this auspicious occasion of Diwali, I want to wish each one of you a joyful and prosperous Subhu Diwali. May your homes be illuminated with divine light, and may your hearts be filled with immense happiness, love, and good fortune.
Diwali holds great significance in Hindu culture and symbolizes the victory of light over darkness, knowledge over ignorance, and hope over despair. It is a time when families come together, homes are adorned with vibrant decorations, and delicious sweets are shared with loved ones. As you celebrate this festival of lights, may you find inner peace, wisdom, and inner strength to overcome any challenges that come your way.
Amidst the celebration, let us remember to be responsible citizens and make our voices heard when necessary. It is essential to build a society that upholds justice, equality, and unity amongst its diverse citizens. Let this Diwali be a time of reflection, where we contemplate how we can contribute towards a better future for ourselves and our fellow countrymen.
Ultimately, let the spirit of Diwali inspire us to spread love, joy, and understanding beyond our own communities. Let us build bridges of friendship and foster harmonious coexistence with people from all walks of life, irrespective of their religious or political beliefs. Together, we can create a world filled with compassion, peace, and tolerance.
Once again, Subhu Diwali to all Guyanese especially my Hindu brothers and sisters. May this Diwali bring you endless blessings, happiness, and success in all your endeavors.
Pt.Ubraj Narine, JP, COA
Former Staff Sgt.(GDF), Mayor
