Opposition Member of Parliament David Patterson is going to Washington D.C to participate in the Symposium on Guyana on 27 and 28 September, respectively. Patterson, who is Shadow Minister of Public Infrastructure, was to have made in the United States as from today but prevented from boarding his flight after clearing customs and immigration. Patterson, earlier today, via his attorneys, Field, Stoby and Hughes law firm, said he would commence charges against the state. The Government has since come out the incident was mistake which many do not believe.

The PPP/C government has been under the critical spotlight of Patterson’s knowledge on infrastructure, and the oil and gas sector. He has emerged as a very prominent voice in society, earning the reputation of leaving no stone unturned in holding the government accountable, ensuring Guyanese get value for their money, equitably participate in the resources of the country, and these resources are exploited in a sustainable manner.

The Caribbean Guyana Institute For Democracy (CGID), who is a main player in organising the symposium on political, racial and economic discrimination in Guyana by the PPP/C government, in a statement this evening said Patterson will meet with Democratic Leader of the United States Congress and the leadership of the Congressional Black Caucus tomorrow, Thursday, September 28, 2023.
