Dear Editor,

In a nation brimming with opportunity and untapped potential, Colvin Heath – London, the former Head of NICIL under the APNU government,  embarked upon a visionary path to bring development to Guyana, inspite of the many challenges he faced. He was guided by an unwavering belief in our country’s abilities.

Colvin Heath – London has consistently displayed remarkable passion, resilience, and foresight. By combining his unwavering determination with an astute business acumen, he successfully played an integral role in securing a contract with the Chinese for the construction of the Cheddi Jagan international Airport, the construction of movie town, the rehabilitation of the Watooka Guest house are just a few projects he had undertaken, these  ventures have pivoted our nation on an accelerated developmental trajectory.

This visionary leader has always remained cognisant of the interplay between business success and ethical responsibility. His unwavering commitment to corporate social responsibility sets an exemplary standard, uplifting the lives of countless individuals and underserved communities. Through strategic philanthropy initiatives, he has championed causes related to education, environmental sustainability, and community development, acting as a beacon of hope for those in need.

His pioneering mindset has inspired countless aspiring entrepreneurs and driven an entrepreneurial revolution across various communities in our nation. By fostering an ecosystem that nurtures creativity, innovation, and talent, he has empowered the youth to dream big and harness their potential to contribute to Guyana’s developmental process.

Mr London has exemplified extraordinary leadership skills throughout his career. His innate ability to identify untapped opportunities, drive collaboration, and navigate challenges has been pivotal in positioning our country as a global force to be reckoned with. His business acumen, combined with his remarkable intercultural understanding, has also played a vital role in establishing international collaborations that further enhance our nation’s standing.

Editor, in spite of all of the aforementioned, Mr London, a young professional, not a politician, had found himself in a web of a political  deboggle. This political gamesmanship has seen Mr. London is going to the courts for the past three (3) years, thus denying him employment opportunities and various business ventures. This political gamesmanship has besmirch this young professional character. It’s time that the government drop this nonsensical case against Mr London and allow him to move forward with his life so that he can be able to provide for his family and continue to make meaningful contributions to the development of Guyana and the world at large.

Yours truly,
Jemaine Figueira MBA
