The Indecent PPP Government is Incapable of Acting in the Best Interests of Guyanese Citizens

Dear Editor,

It is impossible to overlook the blatant shortcomings and misgivings of our current government, no matter how fervently some may wish to. Day after day, our newspapers are saturated with grievances, and the resounding question remains; Why do we persist in expecting excellence from a leadership that consistently falls short?

Essequibo Dispute Driven by U.S. Interests, Not History

It’s high time we recognize the harsh reality. We are under the thumb of leaders who not only appear alarmingly under-educated but also exude a palpable sense of insecurity. Their governance reeks of a controlling, perhaps even communistic, approach.

Decency seems to be a foreign concept to them. Instead of being the guardians of justice, they stand firmly as protectors of individuals known for their questionable, if not downright deplorable, actions. These are the same leaders who proclaim a vision of a united Guyana, but their actions speak of favoritism and a blatant bias toward the so-called elites, leaving the vast majority feeling disregarded and oppressed.

Their hypocrisy is on full display. They claim transparency while their hands seem deep in the cookie jar of our nation’s oil wealth, directing vast sums towards dubious projects that are both poorly managed and show clear signs of benefiting a select, privileged few.

Guyana deserves better. Our people deserve better. It’s time for a change, and it’s time our voices were heard loud and clear.

Yours in urgency,
Shane Headley
