The Alliance For Change (AFC) in a statement said it has noted the announcement by the Ministry of Health in neighbouring Trinidad and Tobago of the first case of Monkeypox in the twin island republic.
In light of the regular travel between Guyana and Trinidad, the AFC has called on the Ministry of Health of Guyana to issue an advisory on travel to and from Trinidad; and to state the protocols that would be implemented to prevent the spread of Monkeypox to Guyana.
If there are protocols already in place, the nation and airlines should be reminded of these, the party made known.
