CG UNITED ODI SERIES PREVIEW: WEST INDIES WOMEN VS. IRELAND WOMEN

The West Indies Women’s cricket team is gearing up for an exhilarating CG United One-Day International (ODI) series against Ireland Women, and Interim Head Coach Robert Samuels couldn’t be more delighted with his team’s preparation and dedication.

Following an intensive training camp held in St Lucia over the past 10 days, Samuels commended the hard work and commitment demonstrated by the players. “Although they are ranked below us, they are a team very much improving. We played against them in the ICC Women’s T20 World Cup, and they gave us a run for our money. The ladies have really stepped up and given 100% when asked to and I happy with what I’m seeing,” Samuels said. “It’s a short tour and I’m happy with where we are as a team. We have a few Rising Stars Under 19 players and this will give them the exposure to develop their craft. Having the young players in the setup will allow the older players to pass on their knowledge and the younger ones can add to their talents and I’m sure we’d see them feature throughout the series.”

The CG United ODI series between Western News Women and Ireland Women not only promises captivating cricket but also carries immense significance in terms of the ICC Women’s Championship with vital points up for grabs.
