Come July NIS and Old Age Pension will be paid same date

Starting next month, the National Insurance Scheme (NIS) pension payments will be paid from the first working day of every month to align with Old Age Pension (OAP) payments. Previously, NIS pension payments were made from the first Monday of every month.

Other measures on NIS pensions have been the Online Contribution Checking System (OCCS), the WhatsApp Life Certificate hotline, WhatsApp Queries Textbook Service, and NIS Live Chat.

Guyana’s justice reforms lead to quicker criminal proceedings, reduced backlog

NIS payments are paid via the Guyana Post Office Corporation (GPOC), Commercial Banks and at NIS local offices countrywide.

The payment of OAP could now be made by Mobile Money Guyana (MMG), in addition to the existing options of the Guyana Post Office Corporation (GPOC), MoneyGram, Western Union, Sure Pay and Commercial Banks.
