Leaders of the  Alliance For Change (AFC)  have called on Guyanese to reject the People’s Progressive Party (PPP) lies and propaganda, and not vote for the PPP at Local Government Elections, on Monday, June 12, 2023.

Speaking at the recent AFC programme the party leadership said Guyanese are suffering under the crushing weight of an unbearably high cost of living under a PPP government with no efforts made by the government to lessen the people’s suffering.

Deputy General Secretary, Ms. Juretha Fernandes, who is also a Member of Parliament (MP), noted the PPP leadership is disrespectful of their supporters. The regime is putting convicted criminals in high positions – for example, the PPP appointed president of the Berbice Chamber of Commerce has been convicted of drug trafficking in the United States where he served some 60 months, she pointed out.   “That is disrespectful to Berbicians.”

Mr. Ricky Ramsaroop MP, Vice Chairman,  has added his voice and called on PPP supporters to send a strong message to the PPP by staying home on election day.

The call was also echoed by the party Leader, Mr. Khemraj Ramjattan, who made a pitch to voters in PPP strongholds , to “Strike on them; stay home [on elections day] and let the PPP know that you have a mind of your own.”
