Police are investigating the alleged murder committed on Shivram Mohabir, called Vickash, a 23-year-old Mechanic of Lot 40 Triumph Side Line Dam, East Coast Demerara, which occurred at about 19:00 hrs last evening.
Investigations revealed that the suspect and the victim had an ongoing issue.
Monday evening, the victim was at his fiancée’s residence who is a cousin to the suspect a scuffle started between them.
The suspect who was armed with a knife and dealt the victim a stab around the chest area before escaping.
The victim was rushed to the GPHC where he was admitted. At about 21:55 hrs last night, Mohabir succumbed to his injuries. The body is presently at the GPHC’s Mortuary awaiting a postmortem examination.
On Saturday last the suspect made a report at the Beterverwagting Police Station against Mohabir, which is under investigation.
The suspect was placed into custody as Investigations are ongoing.
