The Guyana water Incorporated (GWI) hosted it’s first Health fair and blood drive at their Pouderogen Region 3 Office on Monday, May 29 ,2023 in commemoration of their 21st

Anniversary celebration.

GWI’s mandate is to deliver safe, affordable and adequate water and to ensure safe sewage systems for improved public health and sustainable economic development.

Staff of GWI benefitted from various medical services, including: family medicine specialist, ear, nose and throat, physiotherapy, dental examination & care, pharmaceuticals alongside a blood drive, given the constant need for blood products in the healthcare system.

expressed her heartfelt gratitude to the team for providing healthcare services to all staff and customers. She noted that today’s exercise was first of it’s kind and it seeks to encourage all staff to be more health conscious and to adapt a healthy lifestyle.

Regional Operation Manager, Mr. Eson Pearson also applauded the team for their invaulable service to the staff of GWI.

Mr. Calvin Roberts, coordinator of the Health fair,stated that today’s exercise being first of it’s kind was well attended. He noted, that his team is very pleased to have served and provide healthcare service to the staff of the GWI.

Further, Mr. Roberts thanked the staff of GWI for their generous donation of blood. He

said, the blood donation will go a long way in saving, at least 3 lives and will make a tangible difference in our society.
