“Pockets of Poverty?” Jagdeo’s Claim Collides with UNDP Reality

The law is unambiguous. The law is unquestionable. The law is unequivocal. For the law pellucidly states, anyone driving a motor-vehicle on our public roads, must have motor-vehicular insurance.
In fact, the law isn’t an ass. The Law understands human nature. Thus, the law factors human nature, in calculating how best to protect all road users. For this the law is cognisant, damages from a motor vehicular accident, may and is likely to be, beyond the average driver’s pocket. But the law also knows that the aggrieved party must be made whole. Must be compensated, regardless of our financial
circumstances. Thus, the law mandates, all using our roadways must have motor-vehicular insurance, to mitigate against such an eventually.
Oil insurance
Likewise, the constitution is unambiguous. The constitution is unquestionable. The constitution is unequivocal. For the constitution pellucidly states, the Government, elected or installed, has a responsibility to act in our interest. And for this reason, in the context of oil, we have the Environmental Protection Agency(EPA), statutorily empowered to protect our interest, as it safeguards the environment.
In fact, this we know, our environment is fragile, which means minimal changes maybe of apocalyptic consequences. For presently, we live with the repercussions of climate change, consequence of our
actions. Thus, the emphasis is, our relationship with the environment, has to be one where, as we harvest resources, we must have mitigations to protect both the economy and environment.
And this is no more paramount, than in the Oil Industry, where a spill could spell Armageddon to both economy and environment. For from experience, cognisant we are, oil spills are a cataclysmic reality, of which mitigations are mandatory. The fact is, should our 83,000sq experience such, it will not only impact us, but also the economies and shared environment of our immediate geographical neighbours.
But being a  small economy, we could least afford to pay hundreds of billions of US$, in the event of such an outcome. And for this reason, to mitigate against the event of a tragic oil spill, Exxon Mobil should have unlimited insurance, to compensate all aggrieved, whether local or international.
Therefore, it’s in this context, we appraise Justice Kissoon ruling, as one which serves to protect our interest, from such exorbitant injuries. However, most unpatriotically, the EPA and in extension PPP, with responsibility to protect our interest, have demonstrated the greatest dereliction of constitutional responsibilities, in putting us on notice of an appeal.
Mark’s take
Thus, this must be stated ad nauseam, Governments elected or installed, have a responsibility to act in the best interest of the citizenry. Therefore, with Justice Kissoon ruling positioning our interest paramount, the perplexing question is, why would PPP wish to appeal? For such an appeal goes against common-sense. Goes against patriotism. Goes against the constitution. However, the intent is unambiguous: PPP rather than protecting our interest is out to passionately defend that of Exxon.—Why?
Thus, we revisit the recent ignominy, involving Permanent Secretary Thomas. For her astounding arrest and interrogation, evidence America is cognisant of the PPP criminal underworld. Which means, in all likelihood, America has many of the PPP hierarchy on their criminal watchlist. However, this we have heard ad nauseam: America has no permanent friends or enemies, only interest. And of their interest, they’ll undertake whatever is required to achieve their end, even if it means exploiting the criminality of other nations’ politicians.
Wherefore, this the underpinning reason, PPP is doggedly defending Exxon and in extension America’s interest: America is aware of their criminality, therefore has an executioner’s axe over their necks. Which means, should PPP choose not to be compliant, their criminality will be visited with dire consequences and imprisonments.
That said, America’s history is one of many cases where, criminal leaders were exploited, to satisfy their interest. Thus, we name a few: General Manuel Noriega. President Saddam Hussein. The
Talibans. President Maduro. For common to them all, is their criminality, exploited by America to satisfy their interest.
And it’s this compromised position, the PPP has found themselves, down to their affiliation with criminality, the likes of Roger Khan. However, this cliche we shall paraphrase—Mix with dogs and flees shall be your bodily burden. For it’s these criminal flees that have compromised the leaders of PPP, and in extension compromised our country. Which means, with their feet over America’s fire, they will continue to act against our interest, until that day when we act with our votes, starting with the Local Government Election.
