Police investigating alleged murder of woman in hotel

Police are investigating an alleged murder committed on Kim Halley, a 46-year-old of Lamaha Park, Georgetown, which occurred between 2:30 and 2:45 hrs Thursday at Alpha Hotel at Lot 2 Public Road Ogle, East Coast Demerara.

The woman’s husband, a 50-year-old businessman of Mahaicony, was arrested and is in Police custody assisting with the investigations after he reportedly walked into a police station and confessed to the crime.

The woman’s body was found lying motionless, facing upwards on a bed, partially clothed in a room of the hotel with 13 stab wounds on her face, hands and about the body along with a wound on her neck.

A knife blade was found in the woman’s hair while the handle was seen next to the body on the bed.

After the couple checked in the hotel the staff stated that they heard screams from the room. The man subsequently left the room and went in an unknown direction.
