Alvin Dubar, a 48-year-old hire car driver of Lot 5 Section ‘B’ Sarah Johanna, East Bank Demerara, is now dead after he lost control of the vehicle he was driving which flipped several times, before coming to a halt.

Enquiries disclosed that Dubar was driving motor car HD 808, a silver grey Toyota Spacio, and was processing along the Soesdyke/Linden Highway, at a fast rate of speed, when he lost control of the vehicle.

As a result, he was flung from the vehicle and ended up on a nearby grass parapet, where he received injuries to his head and about his body. He was picked up by Police ranks and public-spirited citizens in an unconscious condition and taken to the Diamond Diagnostic Centre, East Bank Demerara where he was pronounced dead.

Rayan Khan, a 49-year-old resident of Soesdyke, East Bank Demerara who was a passenger in the car at the time was also taken to the Diamond Diagnostic Centre where he was seen and examined by a doctor on duty and was later transferred to the Georgetown Public Hospital.

Khan was subsequently discharged and taken into custody to assist with further investigations.

The body of the deceased was transferred to the Georgetown Public Hospital’s mortuary for storage, awaiting a post-mortem examination.

Further investigations are ongoing.
