Ramadan Mubarak! Ramadan Mubarak! Ramadan Mubarak!

Today marks the start of the holy month of Ramadan for Muslims across the World! As we pray for the Mercy, Forgiveness and blessings of Allah (SWAT). May Allah (SWAT) take us closer towards His pleasure and keep us away from His anger and punishment.

The Holy and Glorious month of Ramadan is with us again and once more the People’s National Congress Reform and the Opposition embrace the opportunity to greet all Guyanese and more especially members of our Muslim community as we strive to give meaning to the noble ideals of Ramadan – Struggle, Sacrifice, Abstinence and Forbearance.

The Party believes that as Muslims practice these ideals and they are transmitted to the wider society, Guyana will be the beneficiary as the minds of our people will become more attuned to the principle of building better lives and by extension a better society. The need to struggle for these ideals is even more palpable as we seek to grapple with the multifarious difficulties which beset our country.

The need for continuous struggle against oppression and injustice and for social justice and peace should be emphasized by all as we together observe the Holy month of Ramadan.

The PNCR and Opposition are fully aware that at the end of Ramadan, the Muslim Community emerges energized and invigorated from the month of fasting and we are sure that these qualities will enhance the capacity of the Muslim Community to continue to make increased contributions to the building of Guyana.
