General Secretary of the People’s Progressive Party/Civic (PPP/C), Vice President Bharrat Jagdeo, announced the next General and Regional Elections will likely be in November or December 2025.

Speaking at a press conference Friday, Jagdeo said, “many people believe that this is really the two-thirds point in the term of the People’s Progressive Party in office. It is not. As you know, elections will be held sometime in November or December of 2025.”

Jagdeo added, “so there is still nearly another three years to go, largely because of the extended delay that we had in declaring the [2020] results. And then, the period after convening Parliament you have a three-month period to hold the elections.” To this end, he said the PPP/C calculates the elections to be late 2025.
