New Swedish Ambassador pays courtesy call on Leader of the Opposition

On Tuesday February 28, the newly appointed non-resident Ambassador of Sweden, H.E. Anders Bengtcen paid a courtesy call on the Leader of the People’s National Congress Reform  (PNCR) and Leader of the Opposition, Mr. Aubrey C. Norton, MP, at the PNCR Headquarters, Congress Place, Sophia.

The Ambassador is in Guyana for the presentation of his credentials. Also present at the meeting were the PNCR’s General Secretary, Mrs. Dawn Hastings-Williams, MP; Party Vice Chairman, Mr. Vinceroy Jordan, MP  and Shadow Minister of Foreign Affairs, Ms. Amanza Walton-Desir, MP.

On February 27, the new envoy presented his credentials to President Irfaan Ali. The Minister of Foreign Affairs and International Cooperation was also present at that ceremony.

Ambassador Bengtcen comes to Guyana with a wealth of diplomatic experience having previously represented his country in Romania and the oil producing State of Qatar among others.
