President Linden Forbes Sampson Burnham was a prominent political figure in Guyana, who played a significant role in the country’s struggle for independence from colonial rule and attainment of Republican status. On his 100th birth anniversary, it is important to commemorate his life and legacy and recognise his sterling contributions to the development of Guyana.

Burnham was instrumental in creating a sense of national unity and pride, and his leadership helped to build a strong, independent nation. He also prioritised social justice and equality, advocating for the rights of marginalised communities and working towards economic empowerment.
